xG Football Agency was founded by FIFA-accredited sports agent John Tarazi in 2024 to offer exclusive, personalised services to footballers to help them succeed in the beautiful game and beyond.

Having played at a high amateur level himself and coached various youth teams, launching his own agency fulfilled a life-long ambition for John, whose true passion outside of family life is football.

A Journey Begins

John’s career began in financial services, an industry he thrived in. He soon became a qualified mortgage adviser, set up his own brokerage in 2012, and established himself as a respected figure in the industry, while building a property development business on the side.

While spending his days negotiating the best deals for his clients and growing his businesses, football continued to play a big part in John’s life, whether that was coaching his son’s team, turning out for his local club at weekends, or studying for his coaching badges.

A successful career in finance gave John the attributes he needed to achieve his goals in the fast-paced football world, and have helped him hit the ground running in it.

Ambitions Realised

The jump from financial services to football was a smooth transition for John. The skills he has honed over the years are exactly the ones he calls upon to get results for the athletes he represents, from business negotiation to making the right introductions.

In fact, he arranged several mortgages for professional footballers before breaking into the agent game, the process of which is similar to negotiating a transfer or contract for a player. It’s all about putting the client first and striving to get the best possible outcome for them.

John takes the same approach to representing players as he does with his clients in the finance world. By working with a select, hand-picked group of them, he can offer the kind of exclusive, personalised service that mainstream sports agencies often fail to deliver.

Over a five-year period, John passed his Football Association coaching badges and has worked with youth players at various levels between under-10 and under-15, helping him better understand the needs of emerging players and build up a rapport with them.

Becoming a qualified football agent was the next next step on John’s journey, one that combined his love for football with his business acumen. He passed his FIFA Football Agent examination in 2024 and has since launched xG Football Agency to help footballers with high potential realise their ambitions, whatever stage of their career they are at.

As a qualified youth coach and high-level amateur player himself, John has insight into the needs of young athletes and the support they need to succeed in the football world.

His background in finance perfectly complements his knowledge and experience of the sport, and means his clients have a significant advantage with him in their corner for contract negotiation, legal representation, media relations, and other aspects of their careers.

John has a wide network of contacts he can call upon to meet his clients’ needs away from the pitch, including PR and marketing professionals, and connections who can support footballers beyond their playing careers by exploring new opportunities with them.
